We recently used Socko Painting to clean and stain the cedar siding, paint the trim and clean & epoxy the floor at our home in Lake Forest.  Peter was able to get us a proposal quickly and advise us on the best products to use on our house.  Peter and his team did a great job prepping the siding, priming it and then staining, our house and garage look like brand new now.  We have received many complements from our neighbors on how good the house looks now.  We will use Socko Painting again and highly recommend them.

When we decided to paint our house and gazebo this year, we went back to Socko Painting.  When we first moved in, Peter had done a small job for us. We were so pleased the first time we went back to him a second time. He helped us choose a modern and attractive color combination for the house and gazebo which we just love and have received verypositive comments from our neighbors. He lightly pressure washed all surfaces, used a primer coat on the gazebo and then proceeded to paint. He caulked around the windows and even caulked the top edge of the flashing on the brick chimney to prevent water from running down and getting in soffits. Who does that?

His work is of the highest quality and he is careful of plantings around the house. The reason I will continue to use Peter and recommend his services is that he was on time and on budget,  no surprises, uses quality products, and the peace of mind that he does an excellent job,  I don’t have to worry about mistakes.  Peter is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work.

Peter Socko and his team have exclusively handled all painting inside and outside of our house for years.  He’s very knowledgeable about preparation and paint choice and his guys are careful with furniture, plants, etc.  We don’t get competitive bids because we trust him to do a great job and charge a fair price.  Two neighbors on our block also swear by Peter.  We have had only one problem, and it proved how conscientious Peter is.  He stained our deck last year and it started to peel due to a flaw in the stain.  Peter went to bat with the manufacturer this spring and got them to pay for thoroughly sanding and repainting at no cost to us.  Fantastic.  Peter has my highest recommendation.

Peter Socko painted our house in Winnetka last summer and did an absolutely beautiful job.  We highly recommend Peter and his crew to anyone looking for a very high-quality painter who takes tremendous pride in his work.  Since Peter painted our house, we have had countless neighbors come by and tell us that it looks like we have a brand new house. We feel that way, too, and love the new look he gave us.  People walking their dogs routinely stop to get his name and information from us.  The contrast between our “before” and “after” photos is nothing short of stunning.

Just recently, I had a workman come to our house and the first thing he said was, “Wow. Who did your front door?  There are absolutely no visible brush strokes!  Do you know how hard that is to do, especially with that paint?”  I said I did not know how hard it was but that I had complete confidence and trust in my painter and thus was not surprised at the compliment from a fellow professional.  Socko’s attention to detail is truly magnificent.

Peter Socko came very well-recommended to us by the company who replaced our gutters and did our roof repair work, and we were not disappointed.  Socko and his painters were diligent, professional, courteous, and always reliable.  Socko  runs a tight ship when it comes to his crew and I never worried about the character or behavior of his workers.  The crew always showed up promptly exactly when they said they would and the painters were always polite and respectful.  They were neat and tidy and never left lunch items or debris of any kind around our house.  They consistently demonstrated respect for themselves and respect for others, conducting themselves in a gentlemanly way that our neighbors greatly appreciated. 

Our job came in at the price that Peter had given us in the estimate and he always dealt with us fairly and honestly in all things.  A consummate professional, Peter has a very polite and courteous European demeanor, which I found quite refreshing.  He takes his work very seriously and employs the highest of standards to get the job done right.  My husband is somewhat of a perfectionist, so he particularly appreciated Peter’s rigorous attention to detail.  I appreciated that Peter was able to do such a great job for us with minimal disruption to our household and day-to-day life.  He was clean, efficient, and always sensitive to our household needs.

The final thing that I will add is that a primary reason we hired Peter Socko is that we understood from his references that he is incredibly knowledgeable and that his degree of skill marks him as more artist than craftsman. There really is no substitute for expertise and skill.
